Village Hall Improvements

When the pandemic put most of our lives on hold and everywhere was closed including our hall, life seemed very strange but as restrictions were eased, a form of normality slowly started to return. The committee took this opportunity to start work on refurbishing the hall and club. First the bar area was transformed, a BIG thank you to Ian Page and Nick Pearce who did most of the work. This area is now far more comfortable and relaxing for those that use it.

We installed a 'Bean to Cup' coffee machine as not everybody wants to drink from the bar. This has been a great success - a real cup of coffee for £1 and the Hot Chocolate to die for.

For the protection of the outside of the building and for the well being of those that use the Village Hall 4K CCTV has been fitted. Internally only the entrance and the club room are scanned, no other parts of the hall are viewed.

The car park has a new barrier that can be locked if the need arises. The new lights in the car park and now the new lights in the outdoor seating area make the hall look, as it should, a vibrant centre point of our village.

Since we reopened the Club has dramatically increased its membership and more groups are now using the hall on a regular basis.

All our safety certificates are up to date, new smoke detectors have been fitted. This and other things not mentioned here have been achieved by a strong committee to whom I give my sincere thanks.

Other improvements, the first being, phase 2 repainting the hall, loos etc will commence in the New Year and other phases planned for the future, all these improvements cost money so please support your hall by attending the functions that are put on, Big Breakfast etc. Come down for a drink occasionally, club membership is free. Come to the BBQs and Curry and Quiz nights. If there's nothing you fancy, come and tells us and we will see what we can do.

A merry Christmas to you all
